snog and gribble are alternate names of snarl and heyoka. they are mainly used for when we, onMOO, write sappy little love poems to each other. snog and gribble "poems" (snarl calls them pomes) are sort of an equivalent of two folks passing notes in the back of the classroom. some consider snog&gribble to be the ultimate voice of two soulmates expressing their true emotions. some consider snog&gribble to be utter tripe that should be done away with.
snog&gribble started just after snarl and heyoka met for the first time in person, in may '97. after heyoka returned to the UK, the transcontinental habitation now distancing our TRUE LOVE meant we needed to sate our passion in various non-physical ways. plus the utter sappiness of our mentioning to everyone around us about our TRUE LOVE meant we needed to find an outlet. the outlet turned out to be poems we concocted as snog and gribble and first sent to a 'spam' list usually called *p7a77 on LambdaMOO. the cloying phrases and the prolific outburst, barely hiding our wanton need for each other, led to some protest from lonely hearts to these public displays of tender sweet nothings. so a new maillist, *snog&gribble, was created, and still finds poems sent to it, despite us now living under the same roof.
there are some lost snog& gribble poems. one day we will find that notebook. and there are others, dedicated to friends and written by pals. these may also surface. stay tuned for the return of snog&gribble.
